“The hotel strikes a balance, offering a traditional pub atmosphere alongside functional, updated rooms. Its location, slightly removed from the city center, provides a quieter base for exploring York. I found that the friendly staff and on-site parking add practical value to a stay here.”

Guests often highlight the clean and modern rooms, equipped with essentials like tea, coffee, and toiletries. Its location allows for an easy walk to the city center. The on-site bar is also a popular feature. While some guests have mentioned concerns about the cleanliness of some rooms and external areas, many appreciate the traditional British breakfast and pub atmosphere, especially the local Fish N' Chips.
the pub was quite cozy. decently sized and comfortable rooms was there. food was delicious, i ate one lunch and one dinner there.
the room was cold. i couldn't figure out how to turn the radiator on. towel holder was broken in the bathroom too.

a fairly good stay
friendly staff free parking small room building site
the staff were really lovely! it was nice to have the bar downstairs for a drink. the car park was basically empty the whole time! we were allowed to leave it there even after checking out!
The twin room was very small. the shower door was only attached by one hinge. That was not very safe! the grounds of the hotel looked like a building site. dog excrement was everywhere on the grounds.
